On Thursday, Feb. 8th, we had our usually general meeting at Windermere Town Hall. The informal coffee was hosted by Peggy C. and Tanya C. There was a St. Valentine’s theme table featuring delicious sandwiches by Peggy. Peggy also brought the centerpiece and some wonderful orchids from her home. Thank you to Tanya and Peggy.
Our program was a presentation by Jennifer Mitchell from St. Johns River Water Management. She explained that water bottlers and soda companies use on 1% of the water usage in the water district and of that 99% are used by companies that sell bottled water. Also, she explained that state law makes it easy for water bottle companies to get rights use Florida water. I was also surprised to find out that each Floridian household uses up to 91 gallons of water daily.
