On Thursday, Nov. 3rd, we had our general meeting at Windermere Town Hall. This was on the first Thursday of the month due to a scheduling problem with the second Thursday in November.
An informal coffee was held at 9:30am with Shirley M. and Carolyn R. as our hostesses. Great job ladies, thank you!

Our meeting began at 10 am with our speaker Kelly Greer, Residential Horticulturist at UF/IFAS Extension Orange County. She spoke on succulents both as houseplants and as outdoor plants in Florida. She was very informative and had some great ideas on keeping them healthy. For example, it is important for them to get sunlight for several angle otherwise they will be misshapen as they stretch toward the sun. They need to dry out between waterings. When grown outside it is best for the succulents to get some light shade as our Florida sun can be to intense. Also, for controlling pest in areas of the plant that are very tight, you may use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. These are just a few of the useful hints she gave us during the presentation.

Our next general meeting on Dec. 8th will be a short business meeting with a Christmas themed catered luncheon at the home of one of our members. You must contact Jackie at 407-876-5789 by Dec. 1st in order to attend and get more information. Parking will be limited. Cost is $15/person. The start time will be 11:30 am.
