Field Trips

2014 May 9th Orchid Field Trip

On Friday, May 9th we went to the home of member Marge F. to see her huge backyard orchid greenhouse.  She and Pam F. were our hosts.

Marge gave us many useful hints on the care of orchids. She said the watering depends on the orchid type and that regular hydrogen peroxide can cure crown root in orchids.

Also, Marge also showed us her large fossil collection which most came from Tennessee and other areas outside of Florida.  However, she also showed us her collection of fossilize shells that are found in Florida.

Also, some very delicious refreshments were served.

Thank you Marge for inviting us to your home.
