2012 Arbor Day Event

Dear Business Neighbor:

The Windermere Tree Board will be hosting the 8th Annual Treebute, Saturday, January 21, 2012, from 10 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. in Windermere Town Square and we are looking for participation from our local neighbors. The purpose of the event is to celebrate Florida Arbor Day, to encourage tree planting, tree care and to expand knowledge of our Urban Forest.

This exciting event features a professional tree climbing competition with men and women climbers from 22 States, Canada, Great Britain and Australia.

There is a tree climb and traverse line that allows children to experience the wonder of tree climbing up high with supervision of professional arborists and the safety of tree climbing ropes, harnesses and helmets.

In Windermere Town Square, there will be available for adoption and sale Florida native hardwood, fruit and flowering trees and plants. Also featured will be an “Ask the Arborist” booth, Smokey Bear, various vendors, artists, music, food, environmental educational groups, child friendly activities, prize drawings and a silent auction.

Educational presentations throughout the day by ISA arborists, Division of Forestry, IFIS and “Enchanted Walk-Abouts” will demonstrate nature education, environmental conservation practices, horticulture advice, proper tree care, pruning and care of mature trees.

Windermere Tree Board would like you to join us in presenting a family friendly Arbor Day festival on January 21, 2012, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Set-up time for vendors is 7:00 a.m. the day of the event. Break-down time is 4:00 p.m. Display booth space is available to showcase products from companies, environmental efforts, artwork, crafts, outdoor events or green services. We encourage food vendors and exhibitors to think green and vend products in containers that are recyclable and use recycled products for your marketing materials Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to sharing a beautiful Windermere Treebute & Arbor Day Festival together.

Sincerely,

Theresa Schretzmann-Myers
