Sorry, Everyone. The date & day didn’t correspond, and I changed it the wrong way. It should be TUES, JAN 3. Sorry for all the confusion.
On Tuesday, January 3, 2012, members of the Windermere Garden Club are invited to join Donna Ditges on a tour of the Stetson Mansion in Deland, FL. Tours are $17 per person; however, if we have at least 11 people in our group, it will be $15.45 p.p. The mansion must know the number of people in our tour ahead of time, so please R.S.V.P. by January 1, 2012. Email or call Donna (see below).
The mansion address is: 1031 Camphor Lane, Deland, FL 32720. If you want directions from your house, click on the Directions link below the address at this link: http://www.stetsonmansion.com/directions.html
Here is a link to the Stetson Mansion website describing the Christmas Tours. Be sure and watch the video at the bottom of the page for a peek at the mansion and what you will see and learn on the tour. http://www.stetsonmansion.com/christmas-tours.html
If you would like to carpool with Donna Ditges, you are welcome to come to Donna’s home which is off Hiawassee (first street next to 408). Her address is: 407 Cinnamon Bark Lane, Orlando, FL 32835; mapquest will get you there. Please email Donna at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 321-662-1165 to verify you will be coming by January 1, 2012. Also let her know if you are willing to drive. It will take an hour to get to Stetson Manor from Donna’s house. Plan to arrive at Donna’s between 10:30 and 11:00. There is plenty of parking in Donna’s driveway and on Livingston Street. If you’ve been to Donna’s house before, please plan to park on the left side of Livingston at an angle just like before. There is a huge mound of sod to the left you will have to park around. Only the carpool drivers should park in Donna’s driveway. Donna will let you know the day before how many drivers we will need.
We will leave Donna’s house promptly at 11:00am. We should arrive in Deland at 12:00pm. We can find a place to lunch and afterwards head over to the Mansion by 1:00pm. We will probably be at the mansion 2 hours, then return to Donna’s by 4:00 or 4:30pm, just in time to miss rush hour traffic.
If anyone knows of a place to eat in Deland that is close to I-4 or the mansion, please let Donna know. Someone will contact those who are not carpooling with the restaurant location so we can meet before the tour.
